Knitted King Alf
Help us fill Winchester with Knitted King Alfs!
Whether you’re a knitting enthusiast or a beginner, local or overseas, anyone can get involved and create a Knitted King Alf.
We'll hide your knitted creations around Hat Fair 2021 - the UK's longest running festival of Outdoor Arts.
The public will then be encouraged to find a Knitted King Alf and take him away, so that the Knitted King Alfs can explore other parts of the UK, if not the world!
Some of the Knitted Alfs will also form part of the Knitted King Alf Trail (see below) which takes place from 14 April 2021.
Think how far your Alf could go - and get knitting!
How to get involved
- Download the knitting pattern (or crochet pattern)
- Grab your needles and start knitting.
- Share your knitting journey on social media with #KnittedAlf
- Send your Knitted King Alfs to: Knitted King Alf Project, Play to the Crowd, Theatre Royal Winchester, 21-23 Jewry Street, Winchester, SO23 8SB.
Feel free to get creative with your wool colours.
We'd love to see technicoloured Alfs of all different shapes and sizes.
