Knitted King Alf
Help us fill Winchester with Knitted King Alfs!
Whether you’re a knitting enthusiast or a beginner, local or overseas, anyone can get involved and create a Knitted King Alf.
We'll hide your knitted creations around Winchester city centre at an event later on this year.*
The public will then be encouraged to explore the city to find a Knitted King Alf and take him away, so that the Knitted King Alfs can explore other parts of the UK, if not the world!
Think how far your Alf could go - and get knitting!
*Please note that this project was originally scheduled to culminate at this year's Hat Fair 2020 - the UK’s longest running festival of Outdoor Arts. However due to the coronavirus outbreak this year's festival has been cancelled. The Knitted King Alf project will continue with the Knitted King Alfs being distributed around the city at an alternative event.
